Here’s the latest promotional trailer for #Toukiden from Koei Tecmo. The game releases in Japan on June 27th on PS Vita and PSP and it looks like it features cross play too.

No word on a Western release, but we really hope this does make it’s way to our shores.

New Dynasty Warriors 8 Details Emerge Including Concept Art and New Characters

Tecmo Koei Europe have today announced a few further details for the upcoming Dynasty Warriors 8 in Western territories. For some who have kept up with the launch of Shin Sangokumusou 7 in Japan, these details are not entirely new.

As with previous titles of the series, Dynasty Warriors 8 follows the stories of the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu and Jin through the actions of historical military and political figures of the time as they fight to gain control over the Three Kingdoms of China.

However this sequel takes the much loved IP one step further, merging numerous replay elements like multi-endings and extra modes with synergies between action and game systems, making a game that people won’t want to put down.

Apart from the Story Mode, which comes with new episodes and characters and takes a deeper look at the drama that unfolds in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Dynasty Warriors 8 includes all new ‘What if?’ scenarios. Breaking away from historical fact, this mode takes a look at what could have happened if famous characters had lived to fight another day. This way the story branches out to different outcomes providing variety in the course and ending of the game and giving the players the power to view an alternate version of history depending on their choices.

Dynasty Warriors 8 also boasts a vast number of new and returning playable characters, as the highly anticipated officers Yue Jin and Li Dian from the Wei Kingdom, who make their first appearance in the series, alongside more than 70 playable characters that fight to prevail in the battlefield.

Giving stronger emphasis in the stage of these epic battles and inspired by the landscape of ancient China to deliver a wide range of visual treats, Dynasty Warriors 8 will feature more than 40 completely new stages: verdant plains, desolate wastelands, sharp ravines, huge castles, and other breath-taking sites.

NEW CHARACTERS ANNOUNCED

As well as these new details for the game, there were also three new additions to the Jin Kingdom in Dynasty Warriors 8:

Jia Chong

Son of Jia Kui of Wei.
He is a notable officer and powerful politician.
His talent was discovered by Sima Yi and he has fought alongside Sima Shi and Sima Zhao.
Weapon：Throwing Axes

His cruel dagger glimmers in the shadows of conspiracy.

Wen Yang

Son of the Wei officer, Wei Qin.
His style name is Ciqian.
He has unprecedented courage and valor in battle, and his accomplishments on the battlefield are reminiscent of those of the great Zhao Yun.

Zhang Chunhua

Wife of Sima Yi. Mother of Sima Shi and Sima Zhao.

Time and Eternity Release Date Confirmed

NIS America and Reef Entertainment announce today that the highly anticipated RPG, Time and Eternity will release at retail exclusively on PlayStation 3 on June 28, 2013 in Europe and hit the European PSN Store on July 3, 2013. The North American release will follow a few weeks later.

In this brand-new style of hand-drawn animation RPG, you will witness your own death at your wedding before travelling back in time with your wife-to-be in order to track down your killer! A variety of DLC will also become available after release, allowing you to dive even deeper into Time and Eternity.

Game Dev Tycoon is the first game from Greenheart Games. It was made infamous over the past few weeks for it’s approach to combating piracy. For those that don’t know, Game Dev Tycoon is a business sim that puts the player in charge of their own AAA Dev Studio, if you can make it there from your garage.

Game Dev Tycoon starts you out in the 80s, with nothing but your computer, beat down Chevy Impala, and your mothers garage. In the spirit of true entrepreneurship, all you have is a dollar and a dream.

Welcome to the 80s. Population, you and your hair.

When the game starts, you’re given a few standard topics (Military, Sports, Medieval, Space, etc). You’re also given 5 base genres to develop as well {Adventure, Action, RPG, Simulation, Strategy). The game starts in the early 80s, so the only platforms you have to start with are the PC and the “C64”. Once you’ve decided what you’re developing your game for and what kind of game it is, you have to name your creation. I think I spent more time trying to come up with a good name than anything else.

Shut up. It’s hard.

From that point, you’re given complete control on how your game is developed. Do you focus on the gameplay, the engine, or the story? How important is the AI to your game? What about level design? These are the kinds of decisions that Game Dev Tycoon presents you with during the development phase. Once you’ve completed the game, your developer will level up in the areas that you focused in. As you make more games, you’ll get better and better at those areas. This will also show you where your game stands in terms of “Design” vs “Technical”.

These are the factors that will determine what rating your game gets. That’s right, you’re at the mercy of the in game reviewers for your success. A cruel irony not lost on me.

As your skills grow, and you get a feel for what kind of games you’re good at making, this game becomes VERY rewarding. Will you be a niche developer? The meta-game for Game Dev Tycoon is quite in depth and worth exploring. Once you’ve hit your grove, you’ll be buying office space and publishing AAA games in no time flat.

There is no shortcut to success, there is no easy way to the top. There’s only hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and a little bit of luck. Tomb Raider Gets Shipwrecked!

This week Square Enix and Eidos Montréal released a new “Shipwrecked” multiplayer map pack for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Steam featuring two new maps, Lost Fleet and Himiko’s Cradle.

A massive beached ship serves as a dangerous battleground filled with twists, turns, and traps.

Himiko’s Cradle

Danger lurks around every corner in this mountain top shrine. The area is sacred to the scavengers and will be your final resting place if you are not careful.

Fans will be able to purchase the downloadable content today for 320 Microsoft Points, £2.39/€2.99/$3.99 on PlayStation Store, and £2.49/€2.99/$3.99 on Steam.
